Another lunch room story.

A friend and I go for lunch in the salad line.
We both get the main luch of the day though,
It was meatball subs.
I get to the cashier,
It was her first day as one,
She was being trained by an older lady who has been a cashier,
But the trainee had previously worked as a food server.
I hand her my money,
$10 to be precise.
As she takes it I say, "Can I have the change, please?"
She nods, and reaches in the register.
It takes her a much longer time to count my $8.05 in change,
About a full 3.5 minutes,
And this includes the lady training her correcting her twice on how to count small money bills.
After she finally returns to me the change that is rightfully mine, I move on, and wait for my friend to pay.
He hands her $20,
And also asks for change as he hands her the bill.
She hits a button on her touchscreen computer,
And then puts the bill in her cash tray.
The trainee then looks at my friend as if waiting for him to get out of the line.
His response to this, "I asked for my change please"
The trainer then says, "It's too late, it's already registered deposited in your account in the computer."
"But I asked before I handed her the money," he responds.
"But it's already in the computer. There's nothing I can do"
"This is messed up," my friend says, "I need my change, and I asked for it."
My friend and the trainer exchange several more lines of the same nature,
While the trainee stares dumbly at both of them.
Another teacher tells my friend to stop arguing,
But he wants his change, rightfully so.
After the trainer says that she can't withdraw from the accunt once it's deposited,
So he asks if she could just charge the 18 dollars to the account and hand him his change,
And is once again rejected.
He then gives up,
Releases a sigh,
Sits by me and a few other friends,
And is irked for the rest of lunch.
Lamenting the loss of his $18,
While those around him eat in silence.

Fin.

This is a true story,
In a slightly abridged form.
But I think it's just ridiculous that the school would hire people to work cash registers who can't even count money,
Or operate the computer they're connected to.
You'd think they'd care somewhat.
It's no wonder luch lines take forever,
Some of the lunch staff is underqualified.
Not to mention this staff member barely spoke english.
It's just really jank.
Or is it just me?

Hah, I feel deeply sorry for your friend. Or perhaps is your friend you? Your friend could be someone you don't know. Maybe you in the story is actually the person in front of you in real life. Perhaps you are you and you're counting on us believing that we believe you aren't you as you say. Maybe though you aren't you because you're double bluffing and are counting on us to count on your trickery.

Well well well, you know you could've bought around 30 starbursts from Country Fair last year with that money. Damned trainees.

Or you could have kept the money and thieved the starbursts. "Food" for thought.

This did happen,
And my friend is indeed my friend.

Thats wrong. Hell I'd even go as far as to call it stealing. She wrongfully put your money into an account you plainly told her you did not want it deposited into, and then refused to give the money back. I'd take it up to the big dogs if I were you, but thats just my 2 cents.

That happened to me last year. If anyone knows me you know my temper. I got so pissed. I was THIS close to flipping the cashier off of her pedestal. I feel for your friend durden.

I just think it's unacceptable.

I hated that day. >.> I am still around $10 dollars in debt. I mean it is not that hard to say I bought nine lunches that day, and just give me my money back. I also wanted to add after I handed her the $20 I pulled out a $5 because I realized I gave her the wrong amount of money, and she still denied me. Also I have a huge paranoia of lunch charging because i've heard many people claim that they lose money randomly on the machines.

On a brighter side though lols did ensue when she asked what a golden dollar was.
